Controller

This is the brains of the outfit, it hosts the program and the memory and the loco speed control as well as the checkpoint information. 

It does not need to be on view although there are 2 indicator lights. Power on  and Normal / Short circuit.

The connections are 

1) Rail

3) Supply +

4) Supply - 

5) Supply to Points & Lights +

6) Supply to Points & Lights  - 

7) Checkpoints +

8) Checkpoints - 

For info  connections 4 6 and 8 are all 0v 

The 2nd connector is 2 wires supplying 5v to the Handheld unit.

Data to and from the handheld unit is superimposed on the supply to reduce the wiring.
